Today was one of those mornings. You know the mornings where you give your kids an ice cream cone before 10am because they are whining and you don't want to deal with it! Well, it was that kind of morning. Ryley had cereal and chips for breakfast. I feel like such a hypocrite. I try to eat healthy and work out, but I give her Pringles for breakfast! What is up with that? But like I said, sometimes I just don't want to deal with it all.
On Thursday we are driving to Montana to go see my parents. I am totally excited about it because my sister and her kids will be there. I am not, however, looking forward to the drive. It is only about 5 1/2 hours from here, but with a 2 year old in the car, 5 hours is like dog years...twice as long as normal time. I don't know what I am going to do. There are only so many snacks you can give a kid. AND our dvd player is broken so we are going to make do with our laptop. I hate packing. It takes me forever because I don't want to forget anything and I pack everything under the sun.
We will get home on Sunday and have one day before we are off to the mountains for a retreat with Scott's family! I just love the 4th of July. It is one of my favorite holidays. So I am totally looking forward to that as well. Scott's sister and her partner will be there and they haven't seen the baby yet. I am excited to see them and to go hiking, and boating, and reading a book by the water. Hopefully I will be able to relax a little since there will be Grandma there to help out with the kids.
By the way, if anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with kids on long trips, please let me know! What about cough syrup? Will that knock her our for a few hours?

It sounds like you're going to need a vacation!
I bought a CD of kids songs for one of our trips and Hayden loved it. He liked one song at a time, though, so we had to listen to "There's a hole in the bottom of the sea" 50 times before we could move on to "Old McDonald had a farm". Other than the fact that the voices of the characters we so annoying that I wanted to jump out the window, it was good.
