Fat rolls

Okay, I can't stand that picture Scott posted, it creeps me out. So I have to write something so I won't see it.

Kirye is 7 weeks old today. He gave us his first smile last week. The time goes by so fast. It just makes me sad. He is getting little fat rolls on his legs. It is so cute. I sure wish that the fat rolls on my legs were cute. Isn't it funny how when kids do things it is totally cute (like burp or let out a really big toot), but as grown ups it is totally disguisting? And how if an older person does it we just look the other way and say, "Oh, how sweet. He just doesn't care anymore."

Speaking of flatulence, I was watching Oprah the other day when Dr. Oz was on ( I love him, except for when he took off his shirt and he was all hairy, ewww) and he was saying how everyone lets go of 1/2 liter of gas every day, mostly in little "aliquots." This one lady stood up and asked if it was bad if she held in her gas all day. She had been married for 25 years and had never let it go in front of her husband! Can you believe that?

Ryley's Allergy....

So early one morning we go into Ryley's room, and there she was, in the throws of a Mandarin orange allergy reaction. This is what she could have looked like....but she only had a rash on her bum. Thank goodness.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's day to all of those wonderful mothers out there. The best present I got from my family was a 2 hour nap! Oh, it was so magnificent!
On a side note, Ryley had to get 3 shots on Friday. We are a little behind at her doctor appointments since they supposed to be done at 18 months. It was so sad. They make her sit on the table, and then I have to hug her and hold her arms down so she won't thrash around or anything. She did really well and only cried for a second. Afterwards they gave her a little tootsie pop sucker. I think she only has one set of shots left, and then she is done for quite a while.
Kirye is doing great. He probably weighs over 8 pounds by now. His little legs are getting chubby. It is so cute. I, on the other hand, am still working on losing the baby weight. Ugh. It feels like such an uphill battle. I admit, I haven't tried that hard, but come on, isn't it just supposed to melt off? Unfortunately, I am not one of those lucky women.
