Yesterday was the 6am scheduled induction. We arrived around 6am and were escorted to the "suite" at the end of the hall...a spacious corner room with a view of the city. So we were just hanging out, going through the regular admitting process. Jill wasn't feeling any pain or much discomfort. Since she was dilated 4 cm, which I guess is pretty progressed, the nurse decided to keep checking in on her. So, about 2 hours later, the nurse decided to just give her the epidural for whatever reason. One and a half hours later, the nurse just decided to routinely check her out....and the baby was on it's way! So, about 15 minutes later, Kirye Scott was born! He weighed 6 lbs 15 ozs and was 19 inches long. He has tons of shaggy hair and looks like a "smurfer" (a smurf and a surfer). We are so happy and blessed to have such loving family and friends around us for support and thank you all.

I have to edit this a little. They broke my water at 7:45. I got the epidural at 8:15, and Kirye was born at 9:40. So, overall it was less than 2 hours. They said it was a good thing I scheduled an induction because if I would've gone in to labor on my own and then came to the hospital, I might not have made it, or might not have been able to get an epidural!!
Oh, my gosh, look at that hair!!!!! FUN!!! I am cracking up because it's so cute.
You are sooo lucky it went so quick! When I was in the delivery room with my friend, they induced her at 6 a.m. and she didn't have the baby until 7:30 THAT NIGHT!!! It was so boring! Ha ha.
