Seattle

We're off to Seattle this weekend. I am pretty excited just to get away and go visit my mother in law. We are planning lots of fun things: the zoo, Harry Potter movie number 5, brick oven pizza place, possibly a Spokane Shock vs Everett Hawks arena football game, visiting my grandparents, teriyaki (they have the best teriyaki there!) and of course being able to do whatever because Grandma is a built in babysitter. I love it.
Have a good weekend everyone! Oh, by the way, if you are wondering, I am up with the baby which is why this post is at 2am!
T-I-R-E-D!

Baby Got Back

The following story is not a joke. Yesterday I was trying to make Kirye laugh. I was making all sorts of crazy noises and doing weird contortionistic (is that a real word?) things with my face. He was just smiling at me as if to say, "got anything better than that?" So, I thought of the Friends episode where Ross sings Baby Got Back to their daughter to make her laugh. Well I gave it a go and he totally laughed! It was so awesome. He already has a great sense of humor.
Oh, and we watched AVP Long Beach beach volleyball tournament all weekend and guess who one of the commentators was...Karch Kiraly (who Kirye is named after). We made sure Ryely and Kirye payed close attention. We already have Ryley practicing her run and jump volleyball approach. She is pretty good at it.

Sweetness!

Something totally exciting happened to me today. Okay, it wasn't really that exciting, but it was pretty cool. So, the people that used to live in this house ordered products from Melaleuca (I had never heard of the company). It is a wellness company that makes all of these products with melaleuca in them. So, I get this package in the mail yesterday addressed to the lady who used to live here. I was like, sweet an unexpected package....and then I saw it was for her. At first I was thinking, hmmm...maybe I should just keep it, but then my conscience pipped in and I figured I should probably call the company. So I get on the phone with the company and they are thinking maybe they will just send me a shipping label or something like that. But then I had this bright idea...couldn't I just keep the stuff?? I asked the guy and he was like, um, hmmm, that's a good question, let me ask. Well, he asked and it turns out I get to keep the stuff, which is awesome because the invoice said it was all worth like $75! I have never tried any of the products before, but a bar of soap is like $6, so it must be good, right? The thing I am most excited to try are the double fudge nutrition bars that turn fat in to fuel. You know I am game for anything that will turn fat in to fuel!!

First Real Haircut

Kirye got his first real haircut last night. He has had a trim over the ears before when he was 5 weeks old, but this was a real, all out hair cut. I was totally against it, but Scott said it had to be done.
Here is a before picture with all of his beautiful hair, and in his cute little swim suit:

Here is all of the hair that was buzzed off:

And here is the final product:

By the way he is smiling, it seems as if he liked it! I just think it is too short in the back. I never wanted to cut his hair. I mean, realistically I did, like when he was 1 or so, but not like never ever, like Kate Hudson's kid. Have you seen him? He looks like a little girl. She won't cut his hair and I feel so sad for him.

You CAN'T Be Serious!!!

I am getting gray hair!! At first I thought it was just my blond highlights, but then as I looked closer I saw that it was actual gray hair. Okay, now I know I am not 20 anymore, but come on, I am only 30!! I thought I wasn't supposed to start getting gray hair until I was 50. This is just ridiculous! I keep telling Scott that the kids are making me age. It is so true. I have these big bags under my eyes from no sleep, my hair is going gray. What's next?

When I was at the dr. the other day for Kirye's appointment I picked up an article in Diabetes Shoppe, Shoppe Talk. It was on controlling your nighttime snacking. Okay, so after reading this article I was finally able to diagnose myself. I have nighttime eating syndrome. Yes, it's true. Here is a clip:

"Having a small, healthy snack before bedtime can be perfectly acceptable, but nighttime binge snacking can lead to obesity, poor control of blood sugar, and diabetic complications. In fact, there is even a name for uncontrolled nighttime eating-nighttime eating syndrome. People with nighttime eating syndrome may eat as much as 25% or more of their daily calories after dinner."

Yup. That's me. Once Ryley goes to bed it's like a switch turns on and I need something fun to eat. It's like I deserve a little treat for getting though the day with a 2 year old and a 3 month old.

We're Back

We got back from our retreat last Friday and I still am not back in the swing of things. I have been so tired lately. It takes me like half the morning before I wake up and feel like I can go work out and start my day. It is annoying. I need to snap out of it. Of course it doesn't help that Kirye is still waking up about twice a night! He is 3 months now, he should be sleeping a little better.
Our trip to Montana was a lot of fun. It was good to hang out with the fam and just do a bunch of nothing. After Montana we went to the mountains with Scott's family and stayed in a sweet cabin/house for the 4th. It was really relaxing and it was nice to have grandma and the aunties help with the kids. Oh, I have a story about the trip. So, on the way there we had to grab some lunch. So we stopped at the only place we could see which was McDonald's, and I got a QUARTER POUNDER!!! I haven't had one of those in like, forever, or maybe even never!! It was sooo good. I was going to get a Big Mac, which I'm sure would've been just as good. I was kind of disappointed though because it only had pickles and ketchup on it. Where was the tomato and lettuce? Is that what is on a Big Mac? So, that was my little treat.
My favorite show for the summer is on....Big Brother. Does anyone watch that? I love that show. It is crazy that there are 14 people in the house to start with! I don't know how they all live together. There is this one girl on there that has the most annoying voice ever...and if you watch the show, you know who I am talking about.
